AAL Scheduling glitch

I wonder where the Skybus people ended up

Most went for the free type, knowing they wouldn't be staying long. It got them the 320 type (with a little time in type as well) and maybe put them 6 months to 1 year behind wherever they were going to go anyway. And remember, at that point in time, nobody was hiring and the key to an expat job that paid well was a type with time in it. I suppose I could deal with looking like a Park Ranger for a few months to leverage a better paying contract gig in Asia or the Sand Box back in 2008.

Why'd you leave?

I was 35% in the category. Just about every FO senior to me could hold it as a captain. It reached the point where I was ready to use a pimp hand on some of those ROADs. Seriously, not all asshats sit in the left seat.

Besides, after 17 years, it was time for a change.

I flew with a guy at CPZ who left JB to go to Skybus because he was from Columbus... that didn't work out so well. He's lucky he had the flow through. There were quite a few Skybus at CPZ.

Quite a few at VX, perfect timing.

What's ROADs?

Hey, not my problem you don't get jokes! :D

I get it, somewhat as I haven't been in your shoes.

However, I lived away from my wife (with 27 yrs of FAA seniority) 6 days a week my last 6 yrs in the FAA, as the 2nd most senior controller at A80 and was forced to work 800+ hours of OT a year those last 6 yrs, whether I liked it or not.

Everyone's got a story, I don't know yours and you don't know mine. The grass is always greener I guess.

At what point does this become unsafe?

It’s settled. Full LOS with a retro payout to June 1 2017 and a 5:15 average calendar day effective 8/1/2018. Now for the BOD to vote on it and see what we gave up lol
