AAL Scheduling glitch

UPS would give us bank to accept PBS. Well, we already got bank, but WAY MO bank. Perhaps this sort of screw up will make them think twice? Are these sort of things likely when management has IT issues....

That could be to your guys' advantage though.

Granted this was at a pretty dysfunctional regional, but the contract we voted in said that our union would "explore the possibility" of PBS. In the end the company more or less let the union design the system. I was a very skeptical yes voter...it wasn't the PBS that swayed me into the yes column, but something else we were getting in return...I forget. But in the end we had a very pilot friendly, completely transparent program that most everyone enjoyed...except management.

That's where I think your guys' problem would lie. From what I hear, your management is too smart/pilot hating to let that happen.

A good PBS has three "legs" - good software, good pairings, and good work rules. Savvy bidders can get what they want, too, so meh.

(There will always be someone who can snipe the schedule, even in the most limited circumstances.)

Make no mistake that the point of PBS is to efficiently cover the flying (which is why management letting your union design the system freeform was probably not in the best interests of the Company), but done correctly it's a beautiful thing. Even though we largely don't have the solid software and work-rule component where I work, I'd rather have PBS than hard lines.

Wtf is so secretive about the agreement that it’s been 2 days and they haven’t released the details?!

Probably just an AIP with no firm language worked out yet. I always tried to keep things under wraps until we had language. Sometimes it all falls apart when you're putting pen to paper, even though all the concepts were agreed on. But it is the APA, so I also wouldn't be surprised if they're just screwing the whole thing up somehow. :)

I’ll go with they’re just screwing it up lol

So the big agreement was just announced. The company originally said open sequences they deemed critical would pay 150%. Now they will pay 200%.

I don’t know what’s funnier between the people who thought there would be some huge concession by the company (LOS/calendar day) or the company thinking 200% will get people chomping at the bit.

Big win for reservists. If i read it right even if you’re working on your reserve days you get 200% over guarantee.

I read it the same. But that doesn’t really help the company. Those guys would be flying those trips anyway. They need a ton of people to pick up trips on their off days, which i don’t see happening.

I don’t see it happening either. But it’s still a win for reservists. I’d rather have a permanent win on something but it is what it is.

Is the RJ included in this?
