New Alaska/Virgin pilot mins

Combined we only have a net single digit increase in aircraft, so not sure what the hiring is for - although rumor has it it's because of the largely unproductive Alaska way of scheduling.
I love watching mergers.

"Well, at Western"
"Well, at Northwest"
"Well, at U.S. Air"
"Well, at America West"

I guess we may now safely add "Well, at Virgin America"

Is no one retiring or leaving for greener pastures?

Very few retirements on the VX side. And I think about 50/yr on the AS side/year. 2018 VX retires 6 and 2019 only 4. 2020 decade we start doing double digit retirements at VX. Combined, I think 2018-2027 10 yr timeframe we retire a little over 600.

Attrition is also minimal.

How time have changed....

True, but remember these are mins. Legacy mins are basically ATP mins and 1,000 turbine SIC. But hardly anyone ever gets hired right at the mins.

Is there a military conversion? I also noticed you mentioned 2000 civilian or 1200 high performance military. Are the two mutually exclusive? I have both but am short of the total in each category.

The literal interpretation of "A minimum of 2,000 hours total flight time in a fixed wing aircraft or 1,200 hours total flight time in a high performance military aircraft." would be you need to meet at least one of those two numbers. I honestly don't know about a military conversion, but maybe when the app window opens up there will be some additional info for that.

Nothing yet! been checking every 30 minutes or so, need to get back to the west coast and AS has been a goal of mine for awhile.

It's open now.

Fun fact, don't fill out everything aside from the "Tell us why you want to work here" and go to the end thinking you'll be able to go back tomorrow and fill it in with a well thought out answer. When you get to the end it doesn't ask if you want to submit, you just hit next and then it says "Thanks for your submission!"

Hopefully they like my response to their question, "Fill out tomorrow"

I really thought it would allow me to go back and double, then triple check everything at the end. Or atleast confirm I wanted to submit it. I emailed them asking if I could re submit, but I don't expect a response.

Did you try contacting them through their recruitment page on the face chapter?

And thus, two more fall victim to the “Attention to Detail” trap!

Seriously, that sucks.

I should've just submitted a crappy response, instead of trying to write out a well thought out one. I may be wrong, but I never saw anything that said "are you ready to submit"

Hopefully you can try to get ahold of someone and explain to them what happened. Best of luck!
