I can’t help ya there sport, I can just tell you I’ve had my fair share of CATIII days where Skywest is going elsewhere...and with so many PDX-SEA shuttle flights now on the Bro-Jet, well...give it a week of good temp inversion and AS will feel the pain.

There’s a reason why AS and QX have HUD’s...I just flew with the guy instrumental with getting them here, it took some coaxing, but AS saw the benefit. Hopefully they don’t relearn a lesson of not having the capability.

Nothing has been said about recruiting numbers other than "We are doing great at recruiting since the pay raise". I was actually in the first Q class just a week after the pay raise. Looking at the seniority list I now have roughly 100 people below me. At an airline with only 700(ish) pilots that seems pretty decent right? Many are showing up to actually fly the Q now as well, class sizes are 12+ vs the 8 or less they had for over a year.

HQ seems to be full of new pilots every week. My class has around 12 people in it.

Sounds like classes have been full and they're starting to catch up, but there's still a long way to go. Looks like we aren't canceling dozens of flights per day anymore, but I think that has more to do with them preemptively canceling all of the open time a couple weeks ago, and our reduced schedule that has already been slashed several times. From what I'm seeing in PDX, we are flying barely half of what we were a year ago.

There are lots of new folks on the seniority list, but I think a huge number of them are still in training, or on IOE.

Yep. There are still lots of us in the training pipeline. Right now I am on a three week break between finishing the accelerated groundschool and starting VPT.

I dont think people are used to this new training program. There are still a few things I dont have access to like FLICA.
 
As a passenger in the PNW the scheduling issues have forced me to find alternative means of travel. Being at an outstation doesn't help as well (been a lot of preemptive cancellations). Having to rely on DL more frequently and then driving as we're getting to the point where I can't fly unless I have a TTx with me.

Hoping they can get the staffing issues fixed in a reasonable time..holiday season is a bad time to be low on staff.

Eh. I'm kinda picky about that.

Where I come from, "Yall" = "You and your group," where as "All yall" = "You, your group, and those like it."

We don't say "Yall all." At most, we'll say "All-uh-yall"

Yeah this is how we explain it in Virginia also. One I don't quite get is "Youins" "Yuns" Pennsylvania style.
 
Here is an update on hiring numbers..

I was hired late May, started with a seniority number in the low 600's. I'm now 597 out of 738 according to the latest seniority list that includes the 10/2 Q400 class and the 10/9 E175 class. Looks like most classes are 12 plus new hires a class vs the 2-8 range this time last year.
