We all spend more time than most behind hotel room doors. What is the biggest source of your layover hotel room frustration?

Standing behind an airline pilot complaining about something about a bag lunch not being there, and it's specifically stated in his contract that there would be a bag lunch waiting for him And the ESL guy behind the counter is fluffing as best as he has been trained to do, and clearly getting ready to pop, out of fear of doing/saying the wrong thing.
I was about to tap on the shoulder and offer to buy him dinner (never know when I'd need a rec!) when a tray of, yep, brown bags came out.
I know, I don't understand min rest and crew vans and other 1st world problems. But I was tired, flew 3 legs that day and I had to get up by 0930 the next day if I wanted breakfast because those bastards don't run it till 1100!
But seriously, I can't stand when I get a room with a view of another roof and have to listen to air conditioning machines go off and on.
I can't stand the tv's with the long pause between channel changes.
Hate it when there's no info page to see the name of the movie on HBO. Now I gotta start imbd'ing the actors.
Also, took me a while to figure out HGI sometimes have ghetto sleep number beds. And sometimes people leave them deflated. And the adjustment is under the fitted sheet on the side. And the sign warning me of this is tiny at the front desk and not sure where it is in the room.
Ok. I'm done.

More soundproofing (more considerate guests would help but that's a much more difficult fix) and better locations for outlets. Admittedly the second one seems to be improving as different chains go through updates.

For those that are picking outlets, I strongly suggest getting a USB hub that plugs in directly to the wall. I got one from Target for like $10. Works worldwide (with adaptor) and you get 4-5 plugs.

Life. Changed.

I only have two things to plug in, EFB and phone, but I like the phone by my bed because alarm clock and if the outlet is 10 feet away it's annoying

Mine has a long cord (giggity) so if you are one of those places where the wall plug is hard to get to, it provides a more convenient situation.

I have to put my alarm on the other side of the room, otherwise I'll just mute the thing without ever waking up.

I have a 6 foot cord for it that solves most problems, well except for these phenomenal lamp designs:

I also add: a general lack of lighting. Step into a hotel room, flick the light on, and you get a dim light. I have to turn ALL the lights on in the room just to get it at an acceptable lighting level. Usually not so much a problem during full daytime because the sunlight does its job, but still cloudy days or evenings/night it is an issue.

What about your rest periods on the 747? Do you put the alarm clock in the cockpit for that same reason? Probably a good idea anyway, it'll wakeup the cockpit crew so they can go back to their official crew rest :p

It's not my responsibility to wake myself up from those rests, so it's no problem.

Plus I've developed an extreme hatred for the sound of that stupid chime.

I have so much crap to charge.

Personal phone, work phone, work iPad, smartwatch, noise cancelling earbuds, and an extra battery to charge all of those when I'm not near an outlet.

I have a phone, a kindle and the EFB, stopped carrying a laptop years ago, I do have a battery but I charge that inline with the EFB when it needs it. The Kindle gets charged at home and lasts a couple weeks at least.

I do my absolute best to never wear a watch ;)

Biggest pain in the ass is the phone. Who needs a damn landline in a hotel room? Only used for the annoying calls from the front desk asking about the quality of your room, stay, do you need housekeeping?

I no longer care about crappy wireless, I pump all data through my unlimited iPhone. Works well at home too. No crappy cable, cable modem, direct TV.....no bills, nada!
