Delta should have done the right thing and whisked him off to a private jet...just to make sure there was no backlash.

JK.... seriously though, sticky situation nowadays. Looks well handled.
 
Now if he had broke out in a rhyme about his dilemma I'd have been quite impressed. Certainly not the image of the hard core gangsta he once portrayed.

6:20 AM PT -- A Delta official tells TMZ, the airline did NOT overbook. Mitchell was late to the airport and missed his flight, on which he had a first class ticket. Mitchell was flying standby on a later flight -- the flight in question -- and the only seat available was "comfort+." In other words, it was his fault.

Careful there. The general public doesn't like logic applied.
 
I just watched the video. What a bozo. Kudos to the Delta captain for holding his cool while the guy got in his face and threw F bombs. What a disrespectful clown. Delta should permanently boot him off their planes. Who cares you paid for a first class seat. You acted like a classless bozo the entire time and made yourself look like a chump. That Delta captain really deescalated that situation. He calmed down a pax in the back that wanted to stand up to that guy, that woulda ended up badly. He calmed down the rampers. Everyone on that plane looks to that captain for leadership and direction whether its conscious or subconsciously. This coulda been the UAL debacle all over but was handled as good as it could have given the circumstances.

Well, you shouldn't overbook.....oh, wait.

Yeah, either take what's left, because your first seat already left, or get off. You paid for a seat on a different airplane. Someone else already paid for the one you want, and no, you can't inconvenience someone else because you were late....
