Ugh. Gotta eat my words.....

The good news is BFR complete and some pretty three points.

I know, right?

Go down to Jack Brown's Seaplane Base and fly the Cub on Floats. Talk about low and slow.

You never have to worry about descents. Those floats are draggy as hell. Get Ben Shipp as your instructor.

Amirite? @Roger Roger

I have seaplane already. Did it in the Super Cruiser.

I'll go back next BFR and add the commercial to it.

I'm going to get checked out in the Champ in a couple weeks and then I think I will add the Stearman after that. Theirs is only $194 wet

Gotta feel the slip, no turn and bank indicator.

I always had a harder time feeling the slip/skid in the front seat of the Citabria or Super Cub. When I got in the back seat of the Cub (ASES) it was *much* more noticeable to me. Definite education there. I've never done any landings on land from the back seat so I don't have a frame of reference there, but I definitely have (recent) memories of one of my TW instructors saying, "Feet alive, feet alive!" as I hacked my way through some 3-pointers and wheel landings at 2W5.

When did you fly out of 2W5? I did my private pilot checkride there back in 1994 in a C-152 from Andrews AFB. Larry D was the DPE on field. Or at least I think that is his name.

We can't do pattern work at VKX so 2W5 is the nearest option. Have done to practice there with Marianne Buckley several times.

Not sure who anyone is there anymore. I left the area back in 1998 and moved to NC. But I did a lot of flying out of VKX pre-9/11. Also flew out of Hyde Field as well. Had a lot of fun up there.

Get out while you can! Before you know it you'll be perusing Trade-a-Plane, Barnstormers, Craigslist, and etc. just to look. Then you'll be figuring cost of ownership, just out of curiousity. Then you'll make excuses to drive by local airports, just to eyeball some plans. Then you will be doing a prebuy and it's over.
