Aircraft ID

1/48 if you want a well weathered looking model for a bookshelf/desk

1/72 if you want to hang a dogfight from your office ceiling panels.

Learned that lesson the hard way unfortunately.

if you're good you can have a nicely weathered 1/72. How people do it, I have no idea.

I used to spend time on ARC forums to figure out a lot of ideas and tips.

The people who spent the time building cable bundles and manipulating metal wiring to make hydraulic lines are lunatics. I'm just glad they found something to occupy themselves instead of experimenting on making a plague using the homeless or something.

I once built a 1/48 MC.205 Veltro and it came out awesome. But then I tried to air brush that Italian desert camo with all the little squiggly lines and I wound up throwing it against the wall in frustration.

I did 1...1! Airbrush of an F-111 in the 3 color Vietnam Camp scheme.... took me weeks to tape it off right to get the pattern to come out right.

After that I deliberately stuck to modern planes of grey on grey because it was way easier on my sanity.

My friend Rodney builds things like this:

But he says all the time: "Build for you."

I can vouch, if anything he understates the time he puts in
