KCM

As the newest of all the newest airline pilots, I have to say KCM is the best thing ever. My thanks to those who advocated for this awesome, awesome, thing.
I had to go without it recently for the first time in two years because my ID's didn't match.... Full on normal security.

I heart KCM.

Though my experience is limited, 121 is the best flying job there is. It's the t-ball of aviation. Other people do all the hard work, you just show up, look it over, and swing. Enjoy!
Good lord no kidding. My fo on this trip is prior Alaska 135. He was telling me a lot of his Alaska buddies are giving him crap for not being a real pilot anymore. If that crap is real flying I don't want to be a pilot. This 121 thing has its problems, sure, but as a job it's pretty darn cush.

Yeah. I'll keep my bunk and coffee maker thanks.

Those that haven't had severe black marks on their record are mostly now at 121.

Let me clarify, of the people that aren't "stuck" at Alaska 135, I'd say 70-80% are at 121 carriers. (This anecdotal from the dudes I flew with in 2010/2011).

Ask@seggy what he thinks of non-ALPA bubba's utilizing KCM.
This should be good.

I disagree with the idea that only ALPA members can enjoy a systemic improvement. If a non-ALPA group developed an improvement in aviation, should they be able to limit it to non-ALPA carriers/people?

It's about the common good, not good just for one category of people.

That's about all we do... hardest part is usually picking the hotel, or where to have dinner...

The variable schedule can suck, but a busy month for us is 14 days of work. Last month I flew on the 7th and 31st. The mechanics saw the plane for database updates more than we flew it :)

I love KCM. I used to get airlined all over the US non KCM and well it sucked. It really sucked that every trip started with a security check that meant I had to leave a lot of important things behind for 15 days on the road.

Interesting that Natacs handles it. Given I did fingerprints for AFSP I'd be interested to know what level this could drop down to. Part 121,125,135 all covered.
