iPads aren't all that and a bag of potato chips either.... its highly dependent on the company you work for and how their IT dept handles or mishandles issues that arise. Still better than paper charts that would go missing, get stained by "mystery juice", or are covered in a sticky substance... so I would've been happy with an etch-a-sketch a year ago.

Medically myiasis is a parasitic infestation, not necessarily a condition or a disease.
As an aside, so glad that I've NEVER has to deal with head lice. Since hair grease suffocates them.

It would probably surprise a lot of the general population of people how both common and virulent Lice can be.
My mother deals with the problem routinely working in a nursing home.
The lice aren't the pain in the butt, but the decontamination to get them out of the building is. I don't want to think about how much cross contamination would have happened had they flown that kid and then continued service until the end of the trip.

Lice, bedbugs and scabies are a common occurrence at work. Also you can get a secondary infection from an infestation of lice.

What a farking joke. I'm sure every airliner is chronically exposed to lice, bedbugs, and assorted other cooties. I understand it's unwaiverable, but what does one expect from an aerial subway with 28" seat pitch full of Walmart mouth breathers?

My favorite part is that he complains about 'aggressive overreach' and that his kid was examined in front of hundreds of people... and the first thing he does is complain to the media.

Except that Delta cares deeply about its image/brand, so while they didn't pass "Go" on that particular flight, you can bet they'll make off with more than $200. Whether it's a refund for the original forced miss flight, or credit voucher for future travel.

As disgusting as lice is. Scabies are probably more communicable. They cling to fabrics as their main means of transmission. So while watching a two hour movie at the theater, or sitting in a seat for a transcon. There could be scabies riding with you, waiting to borrow into your skin and go home with you.
A few years ago here in PHX, a theater chain was in the news about its customers becoming a snack for bedbugs during the showing, and taking them back home with them.
