I can't quite believe it. I'll believe it when I talk to the recruiting coordinator again tomorrow to verify the dates and other things...Congrats!

Are you a new DXer too? Are you still seeking work? If so, how long have you been looking?
I guess I did enough, because I'm off to GoJet! I report for training next month...![]()

Passed my practical and oral back in march, been looking since. Not much success thus far, but I'm really hoping i can find something in the NYC area. Yeah, i know... "good luck with that!"
Thank you! I still can't believe it. I'll believe it more when I verify dates with the recruiting coordinator...Congrats!

The only 121 operator I know of in the NYC area is JetBlue; I believe they're headquartered in Queens. Though they're the closest 121 operator to me, JetBlue would necessitate a relocation for me; even on a good day, I have to figure 2 hours travel time to Queens. I know, because I was seeing a gal over in Flushing. Normally though, either the NJ Turnpike or the Cross Bronx Expressway is messed up; oftentimes, both are bad! Then, getting to Queens takes more like 2.5-3 hours. That's a bit long for a commute!
There are 135 operators at Teterboro and Republic airports, which might be an option too. I know Gama Aviation is seeking a flight coordinator at TEB, and you can find more details about the position here: https://gamaaviationllc.com/gama/files/jobpostings/gama_aviation_llc_flight_coordinator_teb.pdf.
BTW, where did you attend school? I went to Sheffield and finished in May. I stuck around for the workshops, and I met a guy from GoJet. He gave me the lowdown on the fact that they were losing two dispatchers, and he gave me the recruiting coordinator's card. One of my classmates, who was taking his practical that week, also talked to the guy, and he'll be hiring on with me. I sent my stuff in before the position was listed. That connection DEFINITELY helped!
Anyway, good luck to you. If you're willing to work on the 135 side, then you'll definitely be able to find something in or around NYC. TEB & FRG have 135 operators that would be an option for you. TEB is across the river, and FRG is on Long Island. Westchester County might have some airports with 135 operators also. Good luck!
With 5Y moving to CVG there is a huge surplus of current and qualified dispatchers in the NYC area and the pickings are pretty slim to begin with...
Burrito, that's why I got my license-to have fun!Congratulations, @MarkM0228 . Good luck at GoJet and remember to HAVE FUN.![]()

I FINALLY got a response from PSA last week. Guess what? They said they weren't interested! It doesn't matter now, because I'm training @ G7, but I thought it was funny nonetheless...It's hard to predict the behavior of people suffering from mental illness...certainly including PTSD if what I've heard about PSA is close to the truth. They might not call you at all, or they may call you and say, "Why is the sky blue?" and then offer you a job over the phone when you answer with, "Gravity."
I applied last year, finally got a TBNT last week.
If THAT is any indication of how they run that airline, we're better off having received said TBNTs!Haha same here! Nice 15 month response time.
