Looks like a solid 757 replacement. Not sure why they wouldn't opt for the blended winglets like the 787. Its nice to know that our grandkids may be alive to see it fly one day. ;)

I think they will, this is not a Boeing render but just a guess at what it will look like. Boeing has stated that scimitar winglets are actually not as efficient as blended or raked wingtips but they were the easiest/most cost effective option for the 737 retrofits and raked wingtips would make 2 737s next to each other not fit at some standard narrowbody gates. I would be very surprised if the 797 doesn't have something different than what you see here.

Meh, that's a lot of range in a small tube. I'll hold out for the 808.

They forgot the part where it's pilotless. Also are they going to go around the horn and start back with the 7 oh numbers or move in to the 8 ohs?

I wonder how many 737max orders will be converted to the "797" if it ever happens. It sounds a lot better than any future version(s) of the 737.

I've heard that they are looking at a twin aisle design. Apparently, The big gripes about the long Airbus and 737's are deplane and boarding times.

That artist's rendering looks like they took an A320 and grafted a 787 cockpit to it. Also looks like they're not giving up on the obsession with number 8.
