Technically ORD only has 2 ground frequencies too. Difference is they have a system.
You mean "nobody stop and nobody hit nuffin!"?

I tend to think LAX tower is woefully understaffed. I can't understand why LAX ground doesn't have five dedicated ground frequencies and two metering frequencies at all times. I'm reasonably sure that'd fix every problem they have on the ground.
Oh, I'm sorry you misunderstood, I wasn't asking...

I don't care what's fashionable, but the one trip I wore a long pilot shirt the wizard sleeve got caught on a condition lever during the climb flow and almost caused an oopsieAdmittedly the only other place I've heard airline pilots and long sleeves don't go is on this website . But why don't they go? I don't know of any other place where you dress up with a shirt slacks and tie and wear short sleeves. I picture the guy in Office Space that they kept moving down to the basement lol. All you need to match is a belly hanging over the belt and black sneakers. I guess this might be why airline pilots aren't asked for fashion advice lol

It's a long running joke, particularly at Delta.
What's funny is that for some reason the biggest dingleberries here do seem to be long sleeve wearers. Doesn't mean they all are, just said venn diagram has a much larger portion of them allocated to the long sleeve shirt circle.
A few months ago we were heading out there in the middle of the night. Winds were out of the east, but they were still taking off and landing to the west, except for those that were too heavy to make that work. We were in line behind an Emirates A380 waiting for approach to build us a hole to be able to depart the "wrong" way. The Emirates guy was being impatient and started complaining "do you know how much fuel we are burning, this is a four engine heavy jet. This airport is absolutely terrible."
Ground controller didn't skip a beat in agreeing with him and offering to provide him with the phone number of the airport management to discuss it further.

That's not a system.
Been flying out of PHL a while now and I recognize this lady's voice.
About 2 or 3 months ago she's vectoring us for the approach and there's a huge cell right in front of us on the downwind. I asked for a deviation left or right, didn't matter. She comes back all snarky-like "unable fly present heading." I ask again bc it's a massive cell. She snarks back "I said unable!" So i reply "Merkan 69 declaring an emergency and turning 5 left." She didn't like that. Too bad so sad.
