Plane turns over truck @ LAX

No it was past the fuselage and got tipped by the wing
Sure. I get that scenario. But if it was that close -to wit, not even clear of the wingspan- it would be madness for the jet to continue, no? Since they collided, I suppose it was madness. Just seems extremely unsusual that someone would continue with a truck that close.
Also, the physics/geometry/relative motion of the thing just don't smell right. The truck would have had to have been moving pretty slowly to clear the nose of the plane, then have the plane move forward far enough that the truck was struck by the wingtip, while at the same time the truck moved forward less than the distance of one wing's span. If it was that slow, why didn't they see and avoid?

I'm sure they didn't see it for one reason or another

If everyone maintained the same rate of speed, they should have cleared is all I'm saying. Assuming the truck maintained constant speed, the plane would have had to accelerate after the truck passed it's nose for the two objects to collide. Alternatively, the truck would have had to slow down. Or both, I suppose.

Another vehicle in front of the truck, perhaps.

This truck may have been jammed up in a long line of vehicles or completely stopped for that matter. The good news in all of this is that it was on the FO's side!!

Anyone else notice something odd about that pic? If the truck was moving, was it backing up through that intersection??
My guess is the Truck tried to beat the airplane like a Pizza delivery guy tries to beat railroad crossings, and once he thought he cleared it he slowed down.
