Shanwick Oceanic Clearance via Datalink Question?

When you use Datalink to receive your westbound oceanic clearance, do you still have to do a voice read back? Or after you "acknowledge" the readback then they send the "Shanwick confirms clearance" message.. no further action is equated including no need to call shanwick via voice?

Thank

Have you been intercepted yet doing it one way vs the other?

You accept the clearance via a prompt on the datalink which generates a "clearance received, clearance confirmed" message in response.

Clearly that hasn't happened since he didn't mention it. FSI should've taught him about it...after all...what do YOU know Mr. A320 pilot?

Thanks for clarifying. We have just upgraded our jet to get Datalink. I've been reading the NAT DOC 007, GOLD Doc, & Jepp pages for the procedures. I really just wanted to hear from someone who has been using it that once you get the "clearance received, clearance confirmed" message you're all set.

You have to add ten more onto that airplane number.
