CASS Question.

No Real Usefulness
My passport has expired and is in the process of being renewed (expedited). I want to Jumpseat to see my folks. Will l still be in CASS?

PS: I know that some airlines require us to show them a passport when checking in. Just wondering if I'll still be in CASS.

Thank you!

I'm not sure if you'd get kicked out of CASS if your passport expired, but I'd imagine you could get denied by gate/crew for trying to JS with an expired one. YMMV

Just happened to me. Was booted from CASS. Get it expedited.

Yep. Your CASS access is based on passport number and expiry date. Renew it before it expires and you should be good. For the few "air lines" that require a passport to jumpseat... I've had mixed luck using a photocopy while my actual passport was being renewed.

But, since it is expired, I won't show (or be denied) in CASS?

If you go to a passport center you can get your passport renewed same day as a pilot. Just have to bring in your badge and all your other passport stuff. Too easy.

Many / Most passport centers will require a letter from your Chief Pilot as well.

I did the expedited process through the mail only because the company will pay for the service but not for gas (to get to the appointment). I wasn't thinking about it expiring during the process, or at least the CASS situation.
Oddly enough, I am still in CASS though.

Hmm, maybe since your paperwork already went through, your passport is showing up renewed in CASS, despite not having the physical new one yet?
But as previously determined, idk wtf I'm talking about

Also quoted because lol pilots are cheap. Instant passport but my gas money... how long is the drive, 1700 miles?
