We did this at XJT on the ERJ side all the time. EDCT times to EWR are a game that you've got to be near the runway to play. I can't tell you the number of time we'd be sitting in a pad out by the end of the runway when we'd be told, "Jetlink, we've got a hole for you if you can be out in the next 2 minutes."

We sometimes did that back before the rule. But it was more to be ready to go rather than make money. Now that I'm in charge, I don't keep them trapped more than I have to, but the game is the ground stops with an update in another hour. Then at the top of the hour, we might get a wheels up time an hour later. Meanwhile the passengers disperse. Then ATC decides much earlier that we are released, so now we have to round everyone up, board and go.

The nice thing about having fifty seats is the ability to get going reasonably quickly...although the Brasilia's get-up-and-go quickness is surely missed.
