Anything larger than a cell phone now banned for Carryon?

"Never tell me the odds!"
Rumors are swirling that the TSA is getting ready to issue a ban on any electronics larger than a cell phone as a carry on. Apparently this ban means no Ipads as well. Anyone officially gotten wind of this yet?

Good. Anything that hastens the decline of that worthless agency should be celebrated.

Looks like it encompasses international arrivals from selected Middle East and African continent nations.

Right? I F'en HATE the TSA. Useless waste of O2. Every single time I fly I get a hard time from them in line and every single time they break open my bags to sniff my underwear. Even when I am carrying and got through the process to declare my firearms. My bag has been given a 2nd search after check in. 2 months ago after following the proper procedure (and in uniform) to declare and check my bag, when I landed at my destination my bag was nowhere to be found. The notes are the TSA confiscated by bag and it didn't make it on the plane. No reason for the delay causing my bag to get lost. Which led to me having to report 2 firearms as stolen. I file police reports at two airports and complain to both the TSA customer service line AND got the number of the local TSA supervisor. 4 days later the bag shows up with no explanation. Funny enough it was the police officer who took the report who found it.

Then my last trip last week same thing. My underwear is given yet another sniff before making it onto my plane. Even though it went through the proper check in procedure.

Frack the TSA.

Word is it is starting there before being expanded globally. They did the same thing with water bottles and liquids a few years ago. It started with a select group of countries and then a week later went to everyone. I hear that is expected to happen this time around as well.

In point of fact leaving Columbus on Thursday I was asked to take my Ipads and run them through the scanner separately like my laptop. They wanted each in separate bins. I thought it was a one time thing till I just heard this half and hour ago.

I'd like to know what possible "intelligence" (or lack thereof) they might have received that leads them to believe a ipad could bring down a plane where a cell phone would not even after it goes through screening. Utterly ridiculous.

Not to mention this would be a huge problem for nearly every airline that has been investing heavily in passengers using iPads and such as personal entertainment devices rather than typical seatback IFE. I really hope this is nothing more than a rumor.

Perhaps this will be the first step of un-sustainable over-reaction from this administration. Took 'em all of six weeks to go this overboard.

Give them a few days to start blaming the media.

Oh shoot, it wasn't protestors, Delta's computers went down so people just grabbed anti-Trump signs instead.
