ASES floatplane in or near Michigan?

Low&Slow

Ancora imparo
Just wondering if there is anyone out there with access to a floatplane. I'm interested in building floatplane time.
Thanks

Hmmm...nobody?
Looks like I'm just gonna have to bite the low-time floatplane pilot insurance bullet, and buy one.

Probably going to try to find something in the ballpark of $30k or less, if possible. Floats, wheels, and skis.
Maybe a Taylorcraft F19, PA-12 super cruiser, or something along those lines.
I'm eventually going to build a Bearhawk, but that's going to take several years and lots of $.
Right now I'm looking to build SES time as quickly and inexpensively as possible.

I'd start start with a O-320 pacer and go from there
Fun plane as is, add big tires, throw some extended wingtips on
I hear it's fun on skis and alright on floats (can't comment though - never flew skis and all my amphib time is in Lakes)
But being an A&P you can have huge amounts of fun with a Pacer.
Almost bought one off of a guy who rebuilt 3 or 4 and took the last one to Alaska to put a whole bunch of field approvals on it.

Thanks, I'll have to get in contact with him.
If that's the case, then maybe he can help me out with a tailwheel endorsement too. The instructor I had lined up for it bailed to take a 135 Citation job. Just found out yesterday.

BTW I wouldn't knock Lake out completely either
Doesn't go anywhere in a great hurry, but neither would a seaplane of this class
Same 200hp engine as Arrow, won't do the docks, but in a way better for wilderness. If you remove the rear seats and open the door to the baggage compartment, two sleeping bags fit great.
For where you are, find one with a working heater - engine is on your back, so no warm air from there.
180 hp is ok too if you keep the loads up.
Any questions about Lakes - pm me

Floats, wheels, skis and under 30k.
