SST anyone?

That's a lot of zeros for a piece of yard art.

Now, it this guy showed up on eBay that would really be something:

Back in the '80s, my folks sent me to Space Camp a couple times. I was a lucky kid.

One of the times I went, we had a couple of NASA guys who were experts on the Soviet Space Program come and talk to us about what the Russians were doing. They showed up dressed in Cosmonaut jump suits. This was during the Cold War, so there was a LOT of interest in this. They talked about Soyuz, Vostok, etc....and then they showed us a satellite picture of the Buran. We were amazed by this. This is the story they told us:

The Soviets flew the thing around on the back of a bomber. One day, the bomber slid off the end of a muddy runway on landing and into a swampy area. Temps were dropping that night and the mud froze and it took them several days to dig the thing out of the swamp. Meanwhile, we parked a (presumably) KH-11 over it and took all kinds of pictures, and that was one of the ones they showed us.

It was utterly fascinating and one of the most vivid memories I have of that experience.

I've got one of those weird fascinations with abandoned places and this is hands down the coolest one on the planet imo. What I wouldn't give to spend a day crawling around that hangar ....

Funny. I have a weird fascination with your Mitsi. Can I climb around in it and get a joyride?

No reg #? New ebay seller? I want it but I'm just not sure about risking my hard earned $7,500,000 on someone with 0 feedback.
