Charter plane down in Melbourne

I saw the words "catastrophic engine failure" in a couple places. Not sure how much veracity that has this close to the accident.

It was a 200. I believe and older, straight 200.

This is getting ridiculous. There is something wrong, and I'm thinking it's in the training arena. The 200 can fly away from an engine failure.

Just to keep this in line, this was NOT a C90, and the 200-series (the type involved in this accident) has a different fuel system.

Correct. As does the E90 and F90 and many other 90. Speculation leads to learning.

1) Personal opinion: Beech should have junked the C and built the E.

2) I agree, but if your going to discuss the C90 fuel system, which is a good discussion to have, make it another thread so that the waters don't get muddied. Other than holding Jet-A, they're different. ;)
