Just doing my part with the fighter pilot shortage...

Not "old" or "crusty", but it has been a pleasure to fly, at least day VMC. Night, not so much, but our block 15's aren't NVG compatible and the form lights are a joke. Congrats!

I'm a few weeks late on this but did the checkride and got the form. F-16 certified!

To all the crusty Viper pilots here, what's been your best memory with the jet?

Only have about 20 hours in the trunk of D models, but my best memory is being able to forget everything I learned in egress class.

Preflight that seat!

Same, my time is in the trunk of B models. A clean Block 10 is one heck of a hotrod.

Didn't realize Fighter Weapons School, or whatever it's called these days, operated those things. Cool.

TIL. I thought they were still using A4s for the dissimilar training.

Started with the F-16N models in the early 90s, as a MiG-29 simulator. The USN wrung those out, so they got embargoed Pakistani F-16s that had been in storage at the DMA boneyard for years. The A-4 Mongoose jets.....rear hotrods that simulated MiG-17s....have been retired for a while unfortunately.
