I gotta be careful making Airplane! jokes these days...we have new hire pilots who haven't seen it. Leads to awkward moments.

Lol, I did the whole Capt. Oveur and Joey routine once with a kid. One parent caught on the other one didn't and got really freaked out until husband explained the joke.

The kid meanwhile never heard a word I said and just was happy to be able to sit up front.

"Looks like I picked the wrong week..."

I cracked an Airplane! reference once. Captain exAF, and his squadron mate on jumpseat both gave me the WTF look until I had to explain it.

His response? "Never watched those moves, they looked immature." His buddy? "Yeah, never saw them."

Then they went back to referring to people they knew by their call signs. Was a very quiet next two days.

Fracking zoomies.

Either Virgin or Alaska.

It will be a while before Alaska enters the Virgin systems, so the systems should remain intact 'til then.
The real question is what will the new name be?
Virgin Alaska (not particularly true, but probably comports with the Tourist Bureau's preferred image)? Or...
Alaska Virgin (if they go with this, I'd suggest they'd do better with "Unicorn" Air)?
