Checkride Shortcuts

To pretend like that stuff doesn't happen would be burying your head in the sand. To say that it's some kind of epidemic though is disingenuous.

Regardless, and this isn't directed at you, the only person whose career I have control over is my own. Airlines could put a hiring ban on pilots with extra chins named Joe. It might not be fair, but it is what it is and is completely out of my control that others will have success while I struggle. I'm a lot more likely to affect change by keeping my head down, not complaining, and working on things that I control.

I knew a young lady that used a particular examiner for all her rides after pvt. and all her students once instructing. She passed and all her students passed because she was prepared, intelligent and made sure all her students were well prepared and ready. Plus she was pleasant to be around. Which is why we dated for a couple of years. And it was a sight to see when she would ice her nipples just as the examiner pulled into the parking lot.

The twists and turns in that were dizzying. A+

That one went off a cliff. I'm just...pleasantly confused.

If they haven't banned Gingers yet, not likely Double Chin Joe is in trouble....

If it hadn't been for Double Chin Joe
I'd been married a long time ago
Where did you come from, where did you go?

Yeah just because you know a few bad apples, I wouldn't paint all female aviators with the same broad brush, as i know gentlemen that tried to do the same thing. I would also suggest if you spend all that same amount of effort into the checkride... you could pass it with anybody. The standards are out there, folks.

Thread. Useless. Pics.

Another vote for gender being irrelevant. I never noticed any of my female students trying to take shortcuts. If we're telling checkride shortcut stories, I did have one student (male if it matters...) claim that stage check oral exams were unfair because there was no question bank for him to study. He didn't last long.

I'm sure this will come off the wrong way, but I've noticed a disturbing trend with some of my female pilot friends, who simply look for every shortcut they can to pass a checkride. They spend alot of time looking for examiners that are friends of a friend or they have some kind of connection with in order to give them a leg up on a checkride.

I've talked to a few who were thoroughly not ready for a checkride, but because of their connections they breezed through. How do you counteract this? I'm all for equality, but this a dangerous game to be using your connections to get through, rather than put the work in and study.

1. The female aviators I've spent the last 10 years around students or otherwise have always been far more prepared and thorough then their male counterparts so idk about this... and

2. Why you worried about other people?
