I've always agreed on getting rid of the overhead bins except for commuting crews.

American Airlines is banning carry-on bags and overhead bin use for basic-economy passengers

Flying American Airlines just got a bit more affordable.

On Wednesday, the world's largest airline released details of its upcoming low-cost basic-economy fare class.

"American Airlines now has something to offer every customer, from those who want simple, low-price travel to those who want an ultra-premium experience via first class," American Airlines President Robert Isom said in a statement...........

And United.

Don't forget Pay Lavs.

A Marathon series tried that for a while. A package to use premium portalets while you were running.

As far as overhead bin space, how many people even have that option when they are one of the last groups to board? Are they offering credits for those people now? I smell a lawsuit.

This is only a new fare class, you can still buy a standard economy ticket with everything included (minus checked bags). Let's not read too much into clickbait headlines.

They're sorting the apparently confusing boarding groups as well...

Now one through nine, versus...... Platinum, Executive platinum, people with orange shirts and those who can't read are welcome to board next..........Now boarding Southwest Passengers standing at the wrong gate

Never bothered me, always board before the unwashed masses anyway.

On another forum I frequent, there was complete outrage over this.

"ERR MA GERD!!!! THER REERPING US ERF!"

I heard Spirit is adding bubble canopies on the wings a'la "M.A.S.H." to use even cheaper fares!!!
