Pretty sure that this wasn't an evacuation, but a pretty organized deplaning to a bunch of buses that would take the pax to the terminal. There's plenty of angst to be spent over the actual evacs that see people grabbing carry ons, but I don't think this is one of those times.

I had the great fun of blowing snow while at home on reserve in The D, and I can tell you that there was a 15 minute period around the time of this excursion where things went from a benign snow to that nasty, wet, icy, crap that freezes your wipers to the window and makes everything crapy and slippery. Glad no one was hurt.

Agreed. No slides for one, everyone exiting out the airstair. And doesn't appear to necessitate a ground evac. No need to do one if not necessary, leading to needless injuries and all.

For this reason (and the things associated with why it's happened) I hope and pray I never have to fly one. I like my airplanes with no surprises, like symmetric brakes and TR's.

I dunno if you're a Airbus captain or not, but isn't the CFM (or even the Rolls/GE) on the 330) notorious for launching reverser panels off the motor?

I seem to recall someone on here mentioning that one a while ago.

I landed in DTW a couple hours before that and almost did the exact same thing. Reported nil ba to the tower on the turn off. I hope they cleaned it up after that, but I think they were still landing planes.
