Norwegian Deny NAI / now DOT-approved

So why aren't pilot's in the EU crying foul on this issue as well? Or are they? Seems they have more to lose over flags of convenience carriers than we do.

Because we lost "the war" against those outfits already. Ryanair established those business behavior and the slf don't care about it. They care only about the cheap fares. AP is doing all the work, so why do we need those "overpaid pilots".

MoL and Kjoes played that card already a couple of times.

Meannes is cool......

Edit: When you look to the european market you'll recognize that the market is changing fast and draticly. In the past ryanair & Co. used small airports in the middle of nowhere. Today they are flying to the Hubs like FRA, Berlin etc. The 3 mayor flag carriers (BA, AF and LH) already started and setup their own LCC. Of course with different T&C as at the mainline.

I called it in post #105, I think sooner rather than later this will also happen here as well. Regional B or C scale rates for flying mainline equipment.

What certificate are they flying under, to be able to do this? Separate cert?

Can talk only about my former mob. They would use the same certificate the already have. Eastern european EU member is the magic word. Just ad another type of the 320 family to the fleet, do a little bit of cross crew qualification (typre rate is the same in the family) and "here we go". I know that they are also looking at the 330, which is just a 7 day training when you have a 320 type rate.

The only positive thing I can think about is that they have really some "FA hotties" ;)

And HR will use the Airbus argument straight away...

Mixed fleet flying (MFF)

It is practical and economical to let one pool of pilots fly several Airbus fly-by-wire types concurrently. Mixed fleet flying enhances flight crew proficiency and increases productivity through greater scheduling flexibility. It also offers a more varied working environment, which contributing to greater job satisfaction and career opportunities for pilots.

Sounds like they plan to go on a blitz of "off brand" cities like SWF, PSM, and PVD for 737MAX service to Europe. I hope it fails miserably.
It would be different if it was a legitimate actor rolling the dice on some new cities.

Anyway, my hope is United uses some of that supposed 4 billion in cash they will end the year with and shut them down, could be a solid opportunity for a new era in cooperation among management and labor at the legacies, common existential foe and all.

Anybody else think their livery looks like a, well, like a dog's extended penis?

Red rocket?

I wonder how much extra range the MAX will give? I still think its going to be stretched pretty far. Again, hope it fails miserably.

The legacies are going to have to adapt to changing times. Domestic ULCCs, the ME3, and NAI type operations are here to stay. If the legacies keep offering crappy service on crappy planes for more money then it will end badly. If they invest in their operation and respond accordingly then we have nothing to worry about.

A Captain I was flying with pointed out that they also resembled a used "feminine hygiene product."

I know, I know. I'll take my ban like a man.
