I know few guys that have a personal 12 hour rule even just after 1.

Just go full LBJ and keep crapping while carrying on the conversation. Throw in a few flushes for good measure. It's been on constant ring the last few days, it's pretty much in DND except for a very select few people.

It's not crazy. I enjoy my pale ales and IPA's and/or some good bourbon, but I won't drink the day before a trip starts and I use the 12 hour rule as well.I know few guys that have a personal 12 hour rule even just after 1.

USN/USMC is 12 hours "bottle to brief" (and/or flight planning), so there is that. You airline guys are cowboys @ 8 hours![]()
Yeah but you've also got guys taking breathalizers to assume bridge watch/COG/etc (which is both brilliant and ridiculous at the same time).

If you cheating on your wife was a symptom of some kind of dependency then maybe it wouldn't be the first reaction but it would be a reaction, yes.If I cheated on my wife and got caught would everyone's first reaction be I hope he gets the help he needs?

Lol, depends, do you have a sexual addiction? Let's start there.
So the breathalyzer wasn't up to spec or he's one of the luckiest guys on earth.

It's far more common than most people realize.
There is no science in fighting a DUI, you were drunk deal with it. The science the DUI defense is built around is finding some clerical or admin error tossing out evidence required for the trial/case to go forward.
DUI lawyers charge a premium for it because they can and it keeps their mortgage paid, not because it's hard.
If you've got 10k and didn't kill anybody, you can probably get out of any DUI. Paperwork on the breathalyzer gets lost, somebody didn't initial a block signing for it, officer did X and Y but forgot Z explaining something to you.... there are tons of ways to pull that card.

Well while we were all busy sharpening our pitchforks and lighting torches. Or revving up the bus ready to run the pilot over.
It seems the highly accurate blood test didn't detect any alcohol in the pilots blood.
Considering nothing went to trail the administrative functions of the procedures were never under the spotlight.
He simply didn't have any booze in his system. The only issue I'm seeing is that the test was 4 hrs late. Not sure if that is meaningful.
