There's airplane nerd...then there's this...

I'm somewhat there. I have a pair of biz-class airliner seats in my apartment. I think that's as far as I'd go, though. Seems far too expensive to recreate an entire cabin, especially with flight training costs looming over my head.

Wow, that is quite an investment of both time and money, but it seems like it is tied to some very good memories.

He lives in LA, I wonder if he's ever gotten calls like "Hey can we use your place to film a ummm... Movie?"

That might explain why many of us fly around SoCal and think "Hey I've seen this neighborhood before..."

I used to be an aviation nerd, but flying them for a living pretty much cured me.

Don't get me wrong, I still love them and can't think of anything that I'd rather do for a living. But I'm cool with having a normal living room.

I feel the same way.

I'm still an aviation nerd, but it's gotten way worse.

Airplanes are cool, but the ultimate is certainly out there in the cosmos. A 787 is cool, but it's just a more efficient 707, at best.

Some of us want more.

Unless I'm going somewhere exotic in first class, there's few places more hellish to me than the main cabin of an airliner.

I don't fly them for a living, but spending enough time on them as pax has disenchanted me of the whole commercial aviation thing, outside of flying them.

True dat. And economy just keeps on getting worse. I flew an AA 77W back from Europe a few weeks ago. I walked back to economy to check out the much maligned 10 across cabin.

No way, nuh uh, never.
