Whos helo was that?
It's truly eye opening. I witnessed exactly what you are talking about with regards to the rich vs the poor. I did my paramedic internship mostly on the SRPMIC Rez,and while they have some very very nice government buildings and casinos, the rest of the Rez is very poverty stricken.

Even on the T.O. rez, they don't necessarily like us there as enforcement, but when they need us, they sure don't hesitate to call for our help. Oftentimes, we're much closer to a particular village or area than any of their small police force are to respond, and most especially are often the only backup for the ones that do respond. Same with fire/EMS emergencies.
About a month ago, we got called out to search for 3 T.O. members who went missing on a mountain at a tribal park. Turns out, they had been out and just stayed too long and weren't prepared for darkness, but were still lost. We ended up finding them after a search of the mountain and were able to vector a ground team of our guys to recover them. I never received the $500 of freeplay at the Casino del Sol for each of them, that I had requested as compensation for helping their agency when they need the convenience of our help.
But seriously, gotta wonder where all the money thats made at the casinos truly goes.......or more accurately, whose pockets it's going into. Because for the amount of poverty that is still on many parts of the same rez....GR and SR for two......there doesn't seem to be alot going into aid programs and the like.
What you say?

I don't get why so many people hate on NM so much. There is actually a lot of natural beauty in that state, and some great history.
Great mountain biking. I won state champ finals in 1996 in Taos. Probably my best race ever at altitude

Neat. I have a Cannondale F1000 with the silver frame. Its an old school hybrid but I'm attached to it.![]()
The headshock bikes always seemed like a good idea. Never got to ride one. The components from back then are pretty much bomb proof. I'd definitely pick a 90's hardtail if I was given a choice during the zombie breakout....
