I live near St Joseph, Michigan and gradyeatted there waayy back when the Earth was still flat. I used to go to the beach a lot when I was younger, now just once in a while.
I only know of one person, other than myself, in all of these years who has ever heard of Augustus Moore Herring.
His name seems lost, even here where he made his claim to fame.

After a few, albeit imperfect, conversions and inflation adjustments, the 1908 7500FF price of the Demoiselle comes out to around $490,000 in today's USD. Weird how stable airplane pricing seems to have remained.
I swear there was a whole chapter dedicated to one of them just walking around Paris doing absolutely nothing.
