Icon aircraft instructor pilot

I'm surprised the weight isn't less then 120lbs.
Two adults and you take off with like an hour of gas.

...indeed, don't really understand the use/utility of this aircraft, seems like they want you to get rid of your boat and put this in your garage for the weekends, except there is no space for a cooler.

I have a realtor friend that has one on order. From what I can see this has about the utility and practicality of a jet ski. Of course that may the point. A $200k jet ski mind you.

That's exactly what it is. A jet ski with wings.
Aside from instruction, they really should have just put 1 seat in this thing and saved the weight. Or maybe like 3 or 4 factory owned 2 seaters in the experimental category(no need to certify) for instruction and then certify a single seat version that had some sort of utility.

New challenge - find a more worthless, beyond stupid airplane with no purpose than this thing.

I was thinking cri-cri, but at least you get to log multi time with a cri-cri.

Oh yeah, and dual is only $345/hr. If you've ordered one.
To be fair that's not really off the mark for amphibious instruction. My CFI friend up here charges $300/hr for instruction in other people's float planes and has to turn people away.

Dang, I think the rate down here is $185/hr in a J-3.

The opposite of the i-Con

It's too bad they never really got off the ground into making new ones. I'd love to see a turbine albatross to.
One day I might try to build a Gweduck.

I think the Gweduck is just as dumb as an i-Con. A couple of dudes in their garage think they can build a better seaplane than Grumman...

Its not a new design. It's a widgeon. Just composit and with newer engines.
More useful load, more range, less takeoff distance and less corrosion.

....but not really right. Just because it is twin and a flying boat doesn't make it a Widgeon.
