One part of the reg 61.159 says we can only use up to 25 hours in a full motion flight sim....

A maximum of 25 hours of training in a full flight simulator representing the class of airplane for the rating sought may be credited toward the flight time requirement of this paragraph if the training was accomplished as part of an approved training course in parts 121, 135, 141, or 142 of this chapter.

The latter part of the regulation says we can use up to 100 hours in a full motion flight sim....

Not more than 100 hours of the total aeronautical experience requirements of paragraph (a)of this section or § 61.160 may be obtained in a full flight simulator or flight training device provided the device represents an airplane and the aeronautical experience was accomplished as part of an approved training course in parts 121, 135, 141, or 142 of this chapter.

My question is, if I obtain 35 hours in a full motion flight simulator can I use that time toward my 1500 hour requirement?

Yes, the 25 hours is limiting how much multi time can be used from a sim to meet the 50 hours of multi for the ATP requirement.

You can use all 35 hours, up to 100 hours, to meet the 1500 TT requirement.

Not only a full motion sim but also an FTD.

Make sure whatever "training" you're doing falls under part 121, 135, 141 or 142 training. Also, make sure it's an approved simulator.

Depending on what regional you go to some accept it and some don't. I know SkyWest will take my part 141 FTD time. I had a few friends go to Compass and they wouldn't take 141 sim time and you had to show up to class with 50 hours of multi...they didn't even accept 25 hours of multi sim like other regionals. Supposedly it had something to do with MSP FSDO (Just what I heard). Just food for thought wherever you plan on going it's always good to verify with them.

I heard compass got that sorted out, but they seem to have enough applicants so 50 hours is what they are asking for regardless.
