I should've said "determining factors" rather than judging factors, as they more accurately reflects my honest question. Just was wondering out loud what others would be making that determination with. I wasn't trying to put on the spot or ask some leading/trap question, just to be clear

Anyway...

The captain who went on "teh jewz" tirade before I asked him nicely to stop is at SWA now.

So I'll just hang out in the believer camp until the courts sort things out. I also agree that the person who left the racist materials in the work mailbox of the United employee's likely could have been found out.

But that may be signs that something big is up too....

As the usual "I'm a racist dirt bag POS" things usually only come up verbally, over sushi.

Me too. Personally, there's nothing a person can say to me that offends me, but that doesn't mean I won't tear you a new one if someone goes on a scree about whatever their racist, homophobic, touch point is.

People assume because I'm the textbook definition of a Southern, white, Irish American redneck, I'll automatically agree with them. Nothing could be further from the truth.

It is the million dollar question. I hope one day, all the rumors get squashed and there is a definitive answer. I get that frustration, it's certainly not a consistent process.

EDIT - I'm asking because I'm interested in the professional vernacular and delivery of this subject. Something I've been wondering about for some time.

I would think that in this day and age of technology, much less surveillance, that it should be pretty easy to find perpetrators of these actions.

Jewish people don't have any features that i'm aware of *rolls eyes*. Hindus? A little easier. It's ok to say things like this.

There are some stereotypes, like a big nose. I actually have a big crooked nose and I am Jewish so hey. That's something I can say? I think.

I do wish I ran the world through some kind of ancient sekret financial system that my people apparently run. Boy that would cool. Finally get to ride in the back of the jet!
 
Yes. Jewish have (some) hooked noses. Blacks have darker skin. Whitey has lighter skin. Indians sometimes have a dot on their foreheads (one dot high!). Some will find my post racist. But it's just fact no?

Here's an unsolicited outsider point of view - the whole discrimination and political correctness issue bears certain similarity to pilot induced oscillations.
At the end of the day we'll all end up someplace different than where we are right now and the amount of hostile rhetorics from either side will only affect how bumpy the road will be.

I was actually told by one CA I flew with the reason I was hired with as low to the published mins (4140 total / 4,000), being the youngest in class, and no TPIC, was because I wasn't white. Said it in a "no offense, but you know it's true" kinda way. o_O
