SpaceX Lost Another Rocket

Social media is poopooing this like mad.

"Never trust a private company to go into space!"

Yeah, because NASA has such a great track record.
Odd, I tend to see exactly the opposite, NASA screws up and people lose it, SpaceX screws up and people talk about how difficult it is.

People actually pay Space X to get their vehicles in orbit? That seems like a recipe for "I'm just doing this for the inevitable insurance payout."

Which is ironic since they were launching a Facebook satellite

Sort of. It just goes to show how the media spins it to gain ratings. It was an Israeli satellite, built "in partnership" with Internet.org (A Zuckerburg owned company) and Eutelsat Communications to broadcast satellite broadband to the Sahara. Facebook is not directly linked to it, but sure as hell will benefit from it. More selfies from guys sitting atop a camel riding through the desert!

Just think, Zuckerburg was a broke college kid just barely 10 years ago. Now, he has enough money to help fund space satellites, all from basically ripping off Myspace.com. Remember Myspace? My kids sure know what FaceBook is, but "what's Myspace dad?"

Run far away from that company... Talked to them once...never again...

back on topic.
We should properly fund NASA and put the space program back where it belongs...
Lets get the STS backup and running with some new birds

Why? The STS could never deliver the promised costs for LEO, simply cannot do it, even launching weekly. The thing was a bloated contract that was blown up because of the military. The reason it ended up costing so much was for the military, then they basically stopped using the thing for what they wanted it for post-challenger.

The space shuttle is gone, for good reason. NASA should be in the deep space exploration, let people like SpaceX and the like do LEO.
