Many have asked about details about the latest company desired direction on DCI. The company has proposed to:
- over a 3-4 year period, remove ALL 50 seat aircraft from DCI in exchange for 50 more 70/76 seaters and increased Mainline to DCI Block Hour Ratio.
While large RJ airframes go up total DCI airframes go down as well as a DCI total seats reduction of 2500. Basically a further advanced implementation of Scope Choke.
So why pull 50 seaters out of the desert, just to return them. Why not just invest in new dual class jets, for 9E to start?
Stop-gap measure. When the AWAC deal fell through, I think the 50 seaters at 9E were the backup plan.

If they want to park the 50 seaters feel free to, no need for any 76 seat relief...need more than the contractually approved number of 76 seaters? guess you need to buy more C-series.

I don't think that scope choke BS is going to be what ends the regionals. It's going to be lack of staffing.
...barring any major changes.
Until Ol Scotty boy changes that.I don't know the specifics of the Delta deal. However, I do know that even though this isn't cool to say or think, but there is validity that scopechoke is working at my place.

What's the proposed ratio and what will the total amount of 70-76 seat aircraft be?
I guess you missed the point that you don't need to bargain for airplanes that are going away regardless.Careful.
Some airlines staff based on block hours not air frames.

It is potentially bargaining to increase the min block hours, stronger JV language, etc.

yeah because you got yours so who cares right? Many made similar comments during C2012. Now you have an airline with 13,400+ and growing pilots and 15 month upgrades.
Its hard for many to get over the emotional aspect of more large RJs, but as long as overall DCI seats and airframes continue to shrink, Scope gains are being made. #ScopeChoke

it's not an emotional aspect. Mainline has already given away way too much. 50% of our daily departures are on RJs. Sure keep the 200s for the at risk routes, hell even throw 700/900s on them if you want. But allowing 1 more 76 seater than currently allowed is a concession. Like I said, if you "need" those RJs thats not our problem, buy more C-series and let mainline fly it. This proposal is more large RJs and immediately putting the company in compliance on JV scope which they are currently out of. No Thanks. This isn't even beginning to touch the other AIPs.
Yeah because I look past the shiny pay ratesWe both have the same goals but different ways to get there. Agree to disagree.

The Page One Problem, as I call it, is real, and it exists everywhere.Yeah because I look past the shiny pay rates
