This is as it should be. What in the world is a "pop" anyways? That's my dad, not a drink.What the hell is up with Texans calling everything coke? I was at a restaurant down there and it went like this:
Me: I'll have a coke
Waitress: ok what kind?
Me: um, regular?
Her: no what kind of Coke
Me: a Coke. Is there any other kind?
Her: well do you want Coca Cola, Sprite, etc....
Me: I'll take a Coke.

I agree "pop" is also asinine. But a Coke is a Coke. There is no other. If you're talking about soft drinks as a whole, the proper term is "soda". Not coke. Not pop. Just soda.
