all done, had to be creative as the applicant needs to log into the same computer, which I didn't realise.
 
So y'all are getting DPE friends to do this for you? I was thinking I would have to go from JAX to Orlando fsdo to get this done. I know some mentioned CFI's, but you can't use them as initial certificate issuance people. Maybe I need to look up a local DPE when I get back and buy him lunch. It'll save me 5 hours of driving...
 
Yeh CFI can do the approval (if you are at the same computer) then FAA will email you and you can download a temporary. DPE can print the temporary straight away.

I have my printout from CAE flight check and my cert from the online course. Any Bay Area based CFIs that can help me out?

FSDO told me they're only processing 3 day, 3 days a week. But it also seemed like they're are expecting unprepared regular people, not us professionals.
 
I don't know, IACRA should allow us to be on separate continents, but maybe as a security check it expects the DPE and the applicant to be in the same room when the application is signed by them,

For Beef Supreme I should be able to do it, even via Skype or over email.
 
For everyone who went and got Temp Certs yesterday: Don't you find it interesting that they are coming up with a whole new airman's certificate number for this? It seems to me that it would be beneficial to them to have one number so that any action against you would also affect your other airman's certs.
 
New cert numbers? Oo err. Nice to have a low number but shouldn't it follow the original FTN?

Still waiting for my (CFI approved) temporary to be emailed.

Yeah the FED and I really only talked about that item because we both though it was weird. They also had a picture of the new certificate. It will be a whole new card and will not look like the old pilot certs. I can see number pending in KVNC's post as well.

All in all it only took about 3 minutes to get everything done at the FSDO because I walked in the the IACRA all filled out.
 
Damn, I guess my number drops lower until the ICARA folks approve it.

Be interesting to see what it looks like - expiring after 2 years also.
 
I finally got the email from airman services though the temp had been in iacra for days. The issue time changed slightly but I guess they had a batch to do.
