United pilots follow Air Transat, to Scottish jail

I don't drink.

I must have confused that with another article and admittedly, I do not know much about the military. I am a pacifist. You know when you have a lot on your mind and you can't sleep...its the same as being drunk.

The point I was getting at is that psychiatry and rehab are being used to control people within industry. People who have often committed reprehensible crimes. I'm not sure flying hungover once, and then admitting it, qualifies as a reprehensible crime. The CIA does psychologically murder people to make them operatives. They are experimenting in rehab and with psychiatry. That's my theory anyway.

Either you replied to the wrong comment or you are completely ignorant of pop culture lol I said "The Rock", not SkyRock.

The Rock:

Its the latter.

I don't have cable, a cell phone, or a car. I drive a Li Ion bike now, that I hope to eventually charge with a solar array. Besides two friends on Facebook, I don't have much use for pop culture. Its a distraction to the things that are actually taking place in the world, very bad programming, and profit driven.

You apparently don't watch movies either.

only some of the movies on Netflix

thanks buddy!

Glad to know I'm not the 'ROCK' I have a little bit of leftover PTSD from being told I'm an alcoholic and drinker that needs 'the program' to stay sober. So, naturally, I bristle a bit when the subject comes up and assume that others are referring to me.

This is bull. People lose track of time, and make mistakes. That doesn't make them an alcoholic. It makes them irresponsible.

Fear of delaying a flight, or getting in trouble for having to call out for a trip will make people do things they shouldn't, especially if they aren't off of probation yet. I'm in now way condoning what they did. Just being realistic. They screwed up, and will now have to pay the consequences.
Very steep consequences that I don't think is fair. Yes, they are in a safety critical job, but they are still human. There needs to be something that allows pilots to be human.

This is a problem that can EASILY be avoided. If you aren't on top of your own game enough to 1, not show up to work drunk, or 2, be responsible enough to know what time it is and when to stop partying then you need to seriously reevaluate your self awareness

Inexperienced drinkers may lose the ability for kind of decision making earlier than they expected. That's the catch 22. If you don't drink a lot or often you are less likely to know when you need to stop.

I can sort of grant you that. Still though this job is typically a job that is the culmination of years worth of hard work. A lot of people, maybe even most, who do it have wanted to do it for a long time. They have fought, trained, struggled, and sacrificed to get it. It's also a job where we ALL know alcohol and work do NOT mix...with dangerous and criminal results. Knowing the seriousness of getting caught and all that's at stake I would assume most people would be vigilant to their limitations...and HYPER vigilant if they are unfamiliar with their ability to drink.

It's not hard, folks. Set an alarm on your phone 12 hours before show time. switch to pepsi when it goes off.

I don't trust those who don't drink. Having said that I would never consider pushing the limits. Unless of course on a day off, at home with car keys hidden from drunk B200 hawk.

Why do you switch to pepsi? To induce vomiting?
