Multiple injuries on JetBlue 429 due to convective turbulence

Omg, you might be on to something!
Has anyone ever seen them in the same room together??

Northernjets took this stuff REALLY seriously. There was a bunch of ground school time allocated to their proprietary turbulence plot system.

I don't fly out west as much as I used to, but I used to a lot on the 757. I had my little clip board and I'd plot the turbulence messages (called "TPs") out.

Well worth the 5 minutes it took.

I still carry my little laminated TP chart with the deviation routes on the back.

Rich, has Southern Jets carried on with the program including Mtn Wave Deviation routes printed on the Hi Alt Charts? Can't count how many times we would be on those routes with a smooth ride when the other airlines 50 miles away would be crying uncle. This would include the random tracks over the Atlantic. I would suggest that NWA had the best meteorology department of any airline....world wide.

Oh, good God. Half the stuff you troll post here is crass. Professionalism doesn't seem to stop you from taking a perverse pleasure in ruling people up.

So, for your efforts here:

For an old Delta fart, you sure are up to speed on the meme revolution :eek2: ;) ;) ;) ;) Now if we can get @mshunter old grumpy behind on board. :stir:

Oh, that's rich. Like butter lobster rolls with chocolate lava cake for desert rich.
I had chocolate lava cake for dessert last week at Fleming's Steakhouse in Newport Beach. The whole time I was thinking about how the owner P.F. is not as sweet as the lava cake.

I dunno. Haven't seen a paper chart in a long time.

I printed out the TP charts and the Mt Wave Deviation charts and had them laminated at the local Office Despot. You need to be more proactive in chasing down TPs now as Northernjets had automation that sent geo-located TP information, well, automatically. These days, I think they need to be pushed by the dispatcher. In any event, I am pretty fussy about them.

So I've got my little clipboard, and my laminated TP chart w/ the mountain deviation stuff on the back, and my wet-erase pens...I plot the TPs and I use the ruler portion of a small old metal E6B to tear the paperwork. I hardly look old, but some of the new young guys, especially from the military, look over at me and they have to be thinking "WTF?".

Flights are now filed on the MW avoidance route and the TP is included in the Dispatcher notes with the admonition to not ask for directs or shortcuts until out of the MW area.

So...there really is no smooth like SJI smooth, is what I'm getting out of that.

And you know that how?

Maybe the FAs were up telling the folks to sit down? Maybe the FAs were up trying to stow bags that may have come out of the overheads? Maybe some of the injuries were compression injuries as the force was enough to lift them out of there seat with a loose seatbelt and then down in their seat quickly?

The fact of the matter is you don't know what the hell happened.

Once again, to make light of this situation is unprofessional and crass.

I bet you're a hit at parties.

Oh, that's rich. Like butter lobster rolls with chocolate lava cake for desert rich.

And neither do you.

Get off your holier than though high horse. 'Unprofessional and crass'.......that's quite the ironic riot coming from you.

Ahhh, yes, the classic attempt to shoot the messenger instead of the content. You can't shoot the content because you know I am right.

Folks on here are making light of folks getting hurt on an airplane. SERIOUSLY?

I can just see the captains shaking their heads and trying to swap/ drop when they see his name on the crew list.

Nope, not at all.
