I mean, I guess I know how the media found out, but it seems odd.

I thought Florida had a 10, 20, life policy. 10 years for using a firearm in the commission of a crime, 20 if you discharge it and life if someone gets injured or killed.

That only applies to usage of the firearm in the commission of certain crimes, from what I can tell, i.e attempted murder, rape, murder, robbery, etc.

He's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon which carries a max five year prison sentence by itself. However, since he used a gun, if convicted, he would have to serve a mandatory minimum of three years, regardless.

I'm not sure how it works but he was released on bond after a short time in jail. He made a post on our union message board today.

There had to be more because in the video he didn't point the gun. He was pointing his finger and the gun was in the other hand behind his back. Albeit the threat was overt, he didn't actually point the gun (at least in the video)
