Really? Because when the S2 was on there I don't think the Super D nor Pitts could be taken to contests.
Attitude aviation in LVK has some cool stuff, I used to teach in most of it. Citabria, Pitts, Great Lakes, Waco, T-6, Marchetti SF260, L-39 etc.
You'd be surprised what factory tolerances are much less repair tolerances for engine mounts, cowlings, etcOn the lighter side of "uncommon" - there's a particular C-172M in the local area that has an engine which appears to be mounted slightly off-center. The FBO claims that Cessna has looked at it, and that it's not an issue (and I expect it isn't - I've flown it many times and it's an active aircraft in a very active rental fleet.
But it's definitely strange to stare at it head on. @bucksmith knows what airplane I'm talking about.
Ask me no questions, I tell you no lies....On the lighter side of "uncommon" - there's a particular C-172M in the local area that has an engine which appears to be mounted slightly off-center. Good luck with that tecnam... I've got a good amount of time in it. No thanks.
You mean the kind where your "flight lesson" just happens to end with you getting out at your hunting spot? There's a couple 7GCBCs for rent up here. "Flight schools" with a plethora of PA-18s(floats, wheels and skis) but I don't think you can just take them.
Haha, no. I meant that they do almost no instruction(aside from float) towards a rating. You mean the kind where your "flight lesson" just happens to end with you getting out at your hunting spot?
Looks like attitude aviation how has the Decathlon 78GC which used to be in West Valley. WV now has a different Decathlon.Yeh I heard about them - will have to make a visit at some point
I remember around 1990 going into KAPA, and there were no less than 3 large rental/club operators with about 30 airplanes each. Some relatively uncommon rental birds like 210s, Cherokee 6s, Mooneys and such.
These days simply having a rental line is pretty uncommon, let alone anything outside a 172.

First time I flew a 206 someone said "hey take my plane to XYZ airport for me, here are some speeds and power settings" or was that a 210, actually that may have been a 210.There was an outfit near me with a 206 for rent, newer G1000 and over $300 an hour. Minimum ten hour check out for insurance. Which makes it a $3,500 checkout. At that rate it's pushing 737 classic type rating costs.

Similar story, first time I flew a 206 was "here are the keys, it has a turbocharger so don't blow it up..." 2,000 miles later I arrived at the destination without blowing it up.
