Transpac or Epic flight academy

This is false!

That is all.

Then explain why Transpac has ground school and quotes 13 months to complete 0 time through CFI? Compare this to ATP who quotes 6 months, self study, and has your checkride scheduled before you even start.

Well, with instrument it's fine. Annoying and pretty tough to teach but oh well.

Private guys are cancelling typical and solos after 1200 are pretty much consistently cancelling. If you teach private right now you're start time is probably 0500 though so you can almost get all your flying in before the wind really gets crazy some days.

Working on my instrument rating, we typically fly at 11am. If we fly. And are always cancelling. She really wants me to fly in the early AM, as early as 4am. Or at night. Probably gonna have to start doing that. Ugghhh...

The Asian kids are not regular students and they take a long time to get through. It takes them over a year just to get from 0 to commercial. Who knows why our faa program is longer than ATP's. They probably won't have you fly as much and stretch it out as long as they can so they can get you for as much money as they can

Yeah I was flying at 5am for the last few weeks. Smooth as ever and calm but around 11-12 it picks up. If you can change your sleep schedule it's well worth the investment.

Yeah, that's gonna be the problem. I'm a night owl, I went to bed at 5:30 am last night. Well this morning. But guess I gotta if I want to fly!

Night flying might be beneficial too? Depends on what you're canceling for...if it's winds then maybe but I won't know until this week to see how they are at 7pm+

If you're referring to the program for the "Locals" then I'd say your statement has a lot of merit per your example. If you're referring to the foreign students, then I stand by my previous statement.

I know this thread is a little old but has anybody here worked for epic as a CFI? They have good reviews from students online. Just wondering what it's like to work there. Pay, benefits, time off, quality of management, etc. I'm looking to move to Florida sometime this summer, trying to find a decent paying CFI job (as in over 30k per year).

No first hand experience, but very emotional secondhand from the friends who were excited to be CFIs there and then suddenly were not.

Any idea as to why they suddenly quit?
Something about the owner of the place thinking you're a piece of doodoo and treating you accordingly. Wasn't an isolated occurrence either.

See if ERAU is hiring instructors.
It's a lower hourly wage (or was way back when), but a relatively painless job compared to what's available in the area plus decent bennies from what I remember and decent amount of credits to put towards your education if you feel like doing that

Then the owner of that place sounds like the owner of my current shop, which is why I'm looking elsewhere. Guess I'll scratch epic off my list, I don't take chances with any red flags I pick up anymore, I've learned that lesson. Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into ERAU.
