Making a career change is A LOT easier than being miserable (been there, done that). You've mentioned a few times you dislike this career... It certainly isn't for everybody and I understand that.

Making the change isn't easy at all. But life after certainly is.

I think a lot of people who this is all they've ever done, don't realize how good they have it. I have one time a year that's stressful. No longer is it the entire year. I get double the time off, and completely forget about work when I'm home.

Yep, I totally agree. I've met numerous pilots that claim the 8-5 life is better... Not one of them has ever had that kind of career.

8-5, M-F only gets you 8 days off a month. I did better than that on reserve, and far better than that with a line. 16 days off this month. And I only work 9 days next month with an official week of vacation. Once I hit the 15th, it's sayonara for the rest of the month. Maybe I'll wake on on a beach, in a foreign country somewhere, with no clue how I got there.....

It's not all rainbows and butterflies. Being gone sucks. But the trade-off is worth the squeeze.
