Again, I have to disagree. Some of the best companies slip up once in a while. Southwest is eons better than Allegiant. But they were assessed $12m in fines not to long ago.

Delta, American, United have all been fined for skipping things, or sub par repairs/MX. No one is immune. But Allegiant is in the spotlight because they have reoccurring issues that don't seem to be getting fixed.

You can call it my opinion, and it might smell like a fart to you. But the fact still remains, they've had their eye poked out more than a few times recently, and fired pilots for what seems like the right thing to do, while letting management pilots get away with declaring emergencies for setting off for airports that were NOTAM'ed closed, that they should have known about prior to departure.

It smells like a fart because your facts are based on inaccurate information. You've taken news clips, conjecture from the internet, and come up with this entertaining post. Perhaps if you had actual factual information you would have a slightly different opinion. I don't think Allegiant is the best and brightest company out there but in my experience it's also not as bad as you make it out to be... If it were I'd be dead by now.

We'll call it "personal experience." The kind where my company came up with an MOU for guys to leave a regional, and come back while keeping their seniority (because we've had guys leave, and come back to a regional. Wierd, right?). As well as many guys who have posted their personal experiences not on just this forum, but many others as well. After all, that's what these things are for. For guys to post up their experiences with aviation, good, bad and ugly. The bad and ugly have far outweighed the good.

Edit: If you have facts, let's her them. So far all I've heard is "YER WRONG CAUSE THE MEDIA! AND CAUSE THE INTERNETS!"

The 757's are still around, 5 in total. Still do HNL routes from LAX & LAS. I'm on the 757, reserve in HNL. I've worked an entire 2 days so far this month, but my tan and surfing skills are getting better by the day.

Edit; Also... While a lot of hiring may be occurring at the present that is by no means a guarantee that anyone will be hired at any particular company. There are a great number of people who use Allegiant as a stepping stone, resume enhancer, or a transition point from the military to civilian flying.

Hahahahahaha! The FAA either doesn't care or does not have the manpower to adequately have oversight on virtually anyone. I suspect it's some of both. No, you can violate virtually every regulation for years whether it's flying or MX. They'll only start to care when you start killing people.
The absence of FAA violations does not mean all is well. It means nothing at all.

Probably just as old....The thing is, I guarantee you the maintenance of said aircraft (not to mention the safety culture) is substantially better at American and Delta versus Allegiant.

To be fair, he's probably obligated by company agreements to not discuss internal information -- the specific type of information that you'd be looking for and which would support what he's saying.
 
Aright I worked at Aay (true it was 3 years ago). The md80 are awful bc they don't maintain them, heck a new airplane is bad bc you don't maintain it. I loved the 80 but yeah...no maintence. The reason you hear less about Airbus problems (and there are some) is bc the Airbus is more automated and won't let you fly it if it's really broken. I can't speak to qol since I haven't been there in a while other than what my friends who are there still say...crappy...long and short Allegiant is better than no job (I guess) but that's it.

You have moments to ascertain if someone has the comportment for customer service and isn't going to "Not my job, maing!" your high value customers.
