Air Wisconsin Airlines - CRJ First Officers 850 TT

Basically, this is an old trick. They hire you before meeting minimums. You accept employment while working toward the minimums and because you got a bird in the hand already, you don't bother interviewing elsewhere.

Except in this case it doesn't make a difference and at 1500 you're free to change your mind? or is there some sort of non-compete you sign?

This sounds exactly like the cadet programs at the AA-owned regionals but no compensation/signing bonus. Anyone know if there are any additional perks? Standby privileges as you're building time? Is seniority from DOH or the day you start class? (I'm gonna guess the latter)

But do they hire you or do they promise to hire you once you meet minima.
e.g i have my ATP written, would it be frozen until i meet ATP minima, do you get a seniority number etc.

I don't think so, it looks like they're just advertising that they'll interview you with very low time.
I know a guy that interviewed with them and received a CJO at... (drumroll)
380 hours

I had an interview at KPHL today with conditional job offer. I had a chance to talk to few pilots and they all seemed to be happy to be there. Interview process was very straight forward and fair.I am close to 1000 hrs and the offer was given to me for 7 month. Looking forward to start a class sometime in fall:)

Congrats
How are you planning on getting the remainder of the hours?

Thank you!!!I've been instructing part time averaging about 50-60 hrs a month. Will try and keep it up this summer so that I get the remainder...although I think they will be okay with extending the offer if a person needs more time.

^^
Ohh okay

I thought that once you get selected and hired they will let you fly on empty legs when they ferry planes around until reaching 1500

How commutable are they? I am really tied down to Seattle area. House and spouse with a good job.

How does this work anyway needing 650 hours we still have to find a way to get the hours right? So what is the advantage?

I took the ATP written in July 2014 but it will be expiring soon so I assume I will need to do the training and take it again is that correct?

Basically you get an offer which is valid for 6 month (you can extend if needed). During the six month period you have to build 1460 hours so that they can place you in class. The remaining hours will be part of training. If your ATP written expires, you will go through CTP training and take it again. Also, as long as you keep in contact with the recruiter each month and send them your updated hours, your offer is valid. Hope that helps, pm me with any questions about the interview process if you would like.
