Anyone Fly a C550?

I don't personally have any experience in the 560XL, but it has the same power as the 560, but on a larger and heavier airframe. I believe it's limited to 290 indicated down low and 305-310 indicated.

Do you mean the same power to weight ratio? Because they have different engines, the 560XL having more power.

The original 500 series was powered by the Pratt JT15 series. The 560 Ultra was powered by a JT15D. When the product line was revamped, the V/Ultra became the Encore and the II the Bravo. The engines were changed to the more powerful/efficient PW535 series. The 560XL series has PW545 engines.

If you can't do something smart, do something right

Ah, I knew the 500 series engines and lineage, but not the XLS. Thanks, I thought they were the XLS had the same engines. Which it does, but doesn't. :)

C56X's seem to either go fast or climb fast, but not both. At least not without some prompting. I've been bitten enough times where I find it safer to expect a slowtation to not give you what you need when you need it.

I meant the Citation X, not the Excel. The 56X is still a straight wing slowtation.
