Best regionals as of today

What are some of the best regionals out there today in terms of pay, bases, benefits, upgrade times and contract agreements with major carriers?

Where do you live? In any of the bases for the airlines you listed? I would avoid commuting if at all possible. Even the best airline with a miserable commute will make your life no fun.

There is no such thing as a "best" regional, only one that works for you. You'll hear 100 different answers so it's important for you to research bases, equipment, career potential, etc in your own terms and goals for yourself.

Any comparisons between, piedmont, PSA, Endeavor, compass, and Skywest?
PSA growth is still happening but upgrade times are now over a year and will be increasing. Most bases are outstations. That means a two leg commute from anywhere that isn't an airline hub. FO pay still sucks. AA is way behind the curve with their regionals.

I believe PDT is still in the early stages if their growth but they suffer from all the other problems PSA suffers with.

Skywest IMO is only recommended if you live out west. Even then Compass isnt a bad option.

Endeaver has great pay now but everything else such as upgrade times seem to be guesswork. The bonuses are contractual which is a big deal. The problem is that there is an experation date.

I honestly don't know how Compass is doing. They upped the FO rates recently but that is all I know for certain.

I've known many who enjoyed their time at regionals. I guess it's all perspective, what you've done on the past, and which regional.

If I reside in ATL, what Regionals should I look at?
Non-Delta Regionals. The only regional that flies for Delta that has a base in Atlanta is XJT. XJT has many issues and Atlanta is a bit senior from what I remember. XJT on both sides currently has a completely unknown upgrade time for new hires.

I say a non-Delta regional because commuting between hubs (especially ATL) can be hell. Most flights are going to be on Mainline metal and Mainline crews have priority. Hubs tend to have a lot of commuters between them so it can definitely get rough.

I disagree with the others. If you live in ATL go with XJT. Yes, ATL is senior. But not having to commute is key.

If nothing else interview there as well as other places and see what happens.

Thank you all for the responses. Good to see different perspectives and opinions. How about piedmont and PSA? Those are the two I'm looking at and leaning more towards Piedmont since the flow to AAG is theoretically less than PSA and smaller group that's seems to be growing. So opinions about those?
