I'd love to fly into more Colorado airports but the boss likes Canadian skiing more.

What's his favorite? I keep meaning to get out of Whistler, but always find myself going back to Colorado.

I was able to do Meigs once. It was my long commercial cross-country (from KBVI) and I wanted to land there once for real as I had on flight simulator for years. A month after I did, they bulldozed it. I recently found the receipt from the Signature that was there ( I think it was Signature, not sure) and made a PDF of it. I also learned the consequences of drinking two 20 oz. Mountain Dew(I know) and then taking off. Good thing I needed that 3rd stop for the requirement!

Like many Pennsylvanians, my wifes family used to vacation in the Outer Banks. On one of our last trips there with her family, I took my wife flying. I rented a plane with instructor at Dare Regional (MQI) and did some flying in the area. I was able to do a landing at First Flight (FFA), next to the Wright Brothers Memorial. Narrow and tree lined, it was one of my more interesting airstrips at that point, as I wasn't an instructor and hardly had any time at that point. The instructor had a nice little souvenir poster that I have framed at home. It was a great feeling to fly where the Wrights had flown.

What was the instructor's name out of MQI? I use to fly for martinaire MQI to RDU. I cfi'ed part time out of there, been to wright bro's many times.
 
I have flown into a few airports that I had flown into as a student pilot as well as a newly licensed pilot, as an airline pilot. Back in the early 90's I flew a C-152 into DCA out of ADW a few times. Also MYR was where I did my CFI ride and I have been there many times with my current airline. It is amazing how different they look now.

On a side note I rode in the back of a C-172 going into Meigs. That was a great little airport.
 
Flew into Meigs a couple of times around 1991. Been in and out of Mackinac Island probably about a half dozen times throughout the 90s.
My bucket list "airports" aren't airports at all though. They're river banks, hilltops, lakes, rivers, beaches, glaciers, snowy fields, and wilderness clearings. Landings to be accomplished in my bucket list airplane; the four-place Bearhawk I build with my own hands. Suitable for wheels, floats, and skis.
 
Kaktovik/Barter Island is pretty far out there. Not much to see there besides Polar Bears (no joke).
