I have a friend that used to be a crew member on one of those, got to look at a few of them up close, and even got to fly the sim. Pretty impressive, but also a very dismal safety record.

I was there for that at herby. the CV is just no substitute. I work with one of those guys in the video now at Nellis.

There is at least 1 or 2 MH-53s flying around Norfolk with the 3 squadrons we have. We have 4 birds and we normally keep one bird up and flying, and sometimes two, so yeah, they are always off the ground. Perhaps, the Marines CH-53s are never off the ground.
